A brief update to introduce you to the latest member of the Angry crew, our new In-house Director, Dan Hodgson. Yes, that’s right, after much searching, showreel sifting and hand-shaking, we’ve gone and added a second Director called Dan to the team!
We’re sure, however, that all of the incorrectly cc’d emails will be worth it; we’re really excited about Dan joining us. Having spent several years working internationally, making branded content films for national charities, NGOs and UN agencies, Dan is bringing a huge amount of documentary filmmaking know-how to the team.
His experience is broad and impressive, making films which were frequently used to challenge bigwigs in governments and international bodies, his work has been shown all over the world, including at the UN Headquarters in New York and the European Commission in Brussels.
Talking us through some stand-out moments from his career to date, he casually mentioned shooting with a de-mining team in Laos, interviewing (a very chatty) Ban Ki Moon and filming for UNICEF in a Rohingya camp in Myanmar.
Here are just a few brilliant branded docs from his back catalogue:
Russell / The Stroke Association
Chris & Chris / Monsta Pizza & Crowd Justice
Finnish Water / Finnish Water
As you can see, Dan fits very nicely into what we’re trying to do here at 3angrymen, making films that matter and all that. For the past couple of years we’ve been concentrating more and more on docs (see Blue Marble, Wallpaper and the upcoming Sunnyside), both for us and for brands, so it made total sense to bring in a director with Dan’s background.
No doubt he’s going to make lots of amazing content with us, so stay tuned!
